Researching companies:
Do you want more information about a company before sending an
application? Not sure who really runs a website? Does
something sound too good to be true? The Internet also makes it
easier to find out about prospective employers.
These websites may help:
With your Thayer Public Library card, you can find contact information
using our business oriented databases.
Thayer Public Library subscribes to Reference
USA, a database that can help you with a job search by
finding businesses based on employee size, sales volume, type of
business and location. Conduct research about industries and
companies. Search for specific companies and find the names of executives to contact.
Or use the guided search to target specific industries by state, city
or zip code.
Your library card also gives you access to the Gale General
BusinessFile, from
home or from
the library. Use this resource to
research all business and management topics. Includes
directory listings for over 150,000 companies as well as investment
analysts' reports on major companies and industries.
Need help using the databases? Just ask at the Information
Desk on the Lower Level or call us at 781-848-0405 ext. 4417.
